Thanks to the wonders of social media, I discovered earlier this week that we have helped to inspire the first free range milk initiative in India. The Svasvita Naturals project has been established in Bangalore, by Siva Ramachandran. Siva explains “We are a group of people with a common mission to increase Indian small farmers prosper in a sustainable manner. We aim to help derive the right value for free-range cows’ milk and create substantial employment opportunities for them. We wish to see small farmers emerge as economically independent and vibrant communities”.
I am delighted to find other initiatives like Svasvita, working to support traditional family farms and giving people the chance to enjoy great tasting, free range milk. We want to build a network of like-minded organisation around the world who share our values. Read more about Svasvita and their mission here.
